The German Textile Research Center North-West (DTNW) dates back to the Textile Research Institute Krefeld e.V. (TFA) founded in 1920.
The DTNW’s research focuses on the functionalization of textile products. These are used in aircraft, cars, the construction industry, filter technology and medicine.
Its core competence is the development of new technologies for technical and functional textiles. Ecology is very important to us.
The DTNW is an affiliated institute of the University of Duisburg-Essen and is in close contact with the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences. Thus, we also see ourselves as a mediator between research and the textile industry.
We offer services in the field of industrial contract research. This includes assistance in solving textile problems. Our laboratories are equipped with modern techniques of instrumental analysis and physical measurement technology. We can assist in the quality testing of textiles.
DTNW e.V. is a registered association with member companies from the chemical, dye and man-made fiber industries, spinning mills, weaving mills, textile finishing and textile machinery manufacturing.
